The Adirondack Run for Hope is an annual event that began
in 2007 by
Amanda Carpenter. Amanda, a Warrensburg native, had just
returned
to the Adirondack region after five years of traveling the
country as a
contract Physical Therapist and had always wanted to
organize a 5K
event. Through her local church, Amanda had learned about
North
Country Ministry and their financial need for their
emergency fund.
She realized that a 5K fundraiser would be the perfect
event for
Warrensburg and a great way to raise much needed funds for
NCM.
With the help of her husband, friends, family and
volunteers the First
Adirondack Run for Hope was held on October 8th, 2007 and
was a
huge success. The event went on to raise over $1900 for NCM
through the generous support of all the runners, sponsors,
volunteers,
and the donations from local businesses. With the race
being such a
success, Amanda and NCM are proud to make this an annual
event for
many coming years.
